Making art has been my favourite activity for as long as I can remember, and I feel fortunate to have spent most of my adult life working as an artist.

After beginning my creative career in stained glass and running my Coromandel-based business, Moonstone Glass for many years, I gradually found myself drawn to painting. While glass taught me the importance of colour, design and composition, painting offered a new sense of freedom and creative expression.
Living on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula continues to inspire much of my work. I am especially drawn to the golden light at the beginning and end of the day, and to the places and memories that make New Zealand unique.

Over the years I have opened my home studio on many occasions, exhibited widely and completed numerous commission works for clients. My paintings often feature coastal landscapes, birds, trees, baches and special out-of-the-way places – familiar subjects that evoke a sense of warmth, nostalgia and connection.

In recent years I have also been exploring abstraction, playing with shape, texture and colour and enjoying the potential that presents.

Whether painting a landscape, an abstract work, or a much-loved holiday bach, my aim is always to create uplifting images that capture the beauty, character and spirit of New Zealand.
