About the Artwork
Dinghy, Ferry Landing was inspired one sunny afternoon while waiting for the passenger ferry to Whitianga beneath the shade of an old pohutukawa tree. From the small cove beside the wharf, the view stretches south up the river beyond the moorings to the distant hills, while boats drift past on their way into the open waters of Mercury Bay.
