About the Artwork
Hibiscus Bach This work was inspired on a sunny springtime walk at Flaxmill Bay. An older-style bach with a grandstand view of the bay provided the perfect foreground to a scene of calm water, moored boats, Shakespeare Cliff, Mount Maungatawhiri and the distant hills beyond. I imagined how the garden may have looked in days gone by, and created a colourful, vibrant garden with a striking red hibiscus by the front steps.
